About Us

Hello and welcome to Barrowby Pre-School. We are a small and friendly, parent committee run setting on the outskirts of Grantham. We provide care and education for children aged 2, 3, & 4. Our sessions run 8.30am -4pm during term time.

At Barrowby Pre-School, we believe:-

We offer children the opportunity to learn through play in a stimulating and nurturing environment, recognising that each child is an individual and will learn in a unique way. We offer a range of activities both indoors and out, in our enclosed play area. We have access to a lovely extended field in which the children take part in weekly nature walks, enjoying the outdoor, country fresh air.

We plan a careful mix of adult initiated and child led activities to enable all children to thrive. Activities are based on your child’s likes and interests, so they capture their attention and curiosity. We follow the Early Years Foundations Stage (EYFS). Staff skilfully and carefully join your child in their play and learning and are able to assess where their learning is at and build on this.

Our staff team is dedicated and experienced and will provide your child with the best experience at Pre-School. Our core team are highly qualified and experienced in Early Education. We also have a experienced relief team that work when required.

We want all children to enjoy being part of a happy community, in which every individual is valued through encouragement and praise. Each child has a dedicated Key Worker who will work closely with you and your family, forming a special bond. These positive relationships help all children reach their individual potential in all areas of their development and learning.

Parents and carers are essential to their child’s learning and education. We work with you to enable your child to progress fully across all areas of learning. We use an online learning journey, so that you can quickly and easily see how your child’s learning is progressing at Pre-School. We also hold regular events, to encourage parents to come and spend time with their children at Pre-School.

Community is a central focus for our village Pre-School. We often visit different parts of the village on outings and have strong links with Barrowby Parish Council. We enjoy getting involved in village events and hosting our own social events, such as coffee mornings, so we can get to know you better and parents can get to know each other too.

Safeguarding is of paramount importance. We regularly review our policies and procedures to ensure that we continue to keep up to date with new government and Ofsted guidance.

At the end of their time with us we aim for all children to be confident, independent individuals ready for the challenges Big School brings to them.
