Management Committee

What does the committee do?

We manage the Pre-School. We define the policies and procedures the Pre-School follows. We are answerable to Ofsted and ensure compliance with all Ofsted guidance. We are responsible for hiring and appraising staff. We manage the budget. We are not involved in the general day to day running of the Pre-School, which is the responsibility of Louise and her team. 

How does the committee run?

We have a constitution, which is a set of rules we follow. We are members of the Early Years Alliance who provide guidance. 

Who can join the management committee?

People with an interest in the Pre-School – such as a parent, guardian, grandparent.

How much time is required?

We hold a management committee meeting every term, which we like as many members as possible to attend. We are flexible on times and dates to allow for the best attendance. There are lots of ways you can contribute to the committee and you can choose to give as much or as little time as you can spare. The good thing is you don't need any experience to make a difference. 

How can being part of the management committee benefit me?

• As part of the management committee you help shape and secure the future of the Pre-School. 
• You play an active role in supporting our local community – because of YOU volunteering our staff are employed and our children are educated. 
• The role is a great asset for your CV, with many skills you can develop or enhance.
